Dividend Income – October 2016

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Hi All,

October was another good month for me, increasing my income by 70.5% over July 2016.  These increases are going to be coming to a halt next month, but I’ll enjoy the levels I’m at for now (and forever!).  The last 3 months, I’ve averaged $485 per month in dividend income, which is a long way from our end goal, but it now covers our utilities + car insurance + cell phones each month.  Knocking out these monthly expenses one day at a time. Every dollar is important.

Month Dividends % Increase  Month Dividends % Increase  Month Dividends % Increase
01/2016
$77 –  02/2016 $168 –  03/2016 $436  –
04/2016
$106 37.6% 05/2016 $201 19.6% 06/2016 $585 34.2%
07/2016
$139 31.1% 08/2016 $256 27.4% 09/2016 $964 64.7%
10/2016
$237 70.5%

So here is what I’ve got for October:

Ticker Amount Received Applicable Notes
KO
$36.40  53 years of increasing dividends
GPC
$32.22 59 years of increasing dividends
GSK
$27.53 High yield play in healthcare industry
CSCO
$108.42 MVP of the month
TRN
$14.08
MAIN
$6.11 Monthly Payer
PSEC
$8.33 Monthly Payer
LTC
$4.32 Monthly REIT

Month Total: $237

YTD Total: $3,169

I feel like I have to keep saying this, but still no recession! The world has not ended and the stock market has not crumbled.  Of course, if it does drop a significant amount we’d be okay with that too! A relatively low month compared to my September but nice to see that my lowest month is now going to be over $200 of dividends.  I’m on a nice path to hit $4,000 of dividends in 2016, after $58 in 2013, $254 in 2014, and $661 in 2015.

Thank you for reading!
