Another (expected) dividend record for us this month, as March is typically a heavy paying month. This month we cashed in $1393.  This bested our previous high by 27.1% and hopefully we’ll be able to continue setting new highs every 3 months as we march towards our 2017 goal of $10,000. Dividends for Charity Update

Learn more about Dividends for Charity hereIn year 1, I am re-investing my dividends in order to kick-start the fund.  By Year 2, it should easily be able to support my $25 monthly donation to Children International and on its way to supporting 2 monthly donations (and more!)

Value has definitely dropped a bit in March (thanks to Target….again), but Apple is sure doing their part to help the cause.

Watch List for Next Month

This month we’ll be “donating” our regular investment into the Target fund in hopes that the whole losing money thing stops.  In addition to this, I’ll probably add a little Ford to lower my basis.  Aside from those 2, I’m going to keep feeding my international ETF and probably put a little more into REITs to spread out my exposure.

Beaten Down: F, TGT

High Yield (REITs currently): AGNC, O, LTC, VNQ

International: VXUS

Slow, Steady, and Safe: EMR, AWR, KO, JNJ, GPC

Lending Club Progress

Since I re-invest all my proceeds it’s hard to keep track of a return rate here.  I’m looking to simply have my interest received outpace my charge-off amount, so that’s what we’ll track here.

Still winding down this project, but it’s actually holding up quite well. Kind of feels like they know I’m withdrawing all my money slowly and want me to stay…

Month/Year Total Loans Interest Received Charge-offs Delta
Dec 2016
405 $1019 $210 $809
Jan 2017
419 $1192 $280 $912
Feb 2017

Mar 2017

Progress Towards $30,000 Passive Income Goal

Year Dividend Income Progress Towards Goal
2016
$4517 15.1%
2017 (YTD)
$1990 6.6%

Same old stuff for us this month.  Not much in the form of posts but I feel like giving these updates let’s everyone know that we are still on track.  Will be interesting to see what the market does in the next few months, considering it seems to have finally flattened out.  I’m continuing to invest at the same speed I have been all along, I’ll let someone else worry about predicting when the next recession will hit.  I completely understand that buying stock at the current prices might not look like great “value” in 3 years, but it probably will in 20 years.

A big month of March puts us roughly on pace for our goal of $10,000 for the year.

Happy investing!
